Evdokiya Ivanovna went to the front when she was 19 years old on the second day of the war with the 103rd mobile field hospital. Under Gzhatsk the hospital became part of the 259th Infantry Regiment Volunteer Corps of Siberians. The famous height 233.3 is reminded by Evdokiya Ivanovna with special pride. It was a difficult time for health care workers.They had a huge number of the wounded. Day and night doctors and nurses didn`t leave the operating tables. As a nurse Evdokiya Ivanovna passed through the war.
Evdokiya Ivanovna was awarded with the medals "For the Defense of Moscow", "For Military Merit", "For the capture of Konigsberg", "For Victory over Germany". Evdokiya Ivanovna ended the war in 80 km from Berlin. After the demobilization she worked as a secretary, a bookkeeper and a head of the creche. |
